  • Move to Windows 11

Windows 10 extended support ends in October 2026. While that may seem like plenty of time, we are already seeing some banks and financial institutions require Windows 11 for secure access. If you’re still using Windows 10, now is the time to move to one of our Windows 11 computers.

Keep Your Files & Move to Windows 11 with Confidence
    For As Low As $95

For most people, upgrading means replacing the computer. The biggest question we hear is: “What happens to my files?”

At ComputerCorps, we offer a standard data transfer service for $195. If you donate your working computer at the time of check-in, we’ll discount that service by $100 — so you only pay $95. Almost all of our customers qualify for this service.

    What’s Included
    in Our Standard Transfer

Our standard transfer includes files stored in one Windows user account on a working Windows 7,8,10,11 computer.

    • Desktop
    • Documents
    • Music
    • Pictures
    • Videos

    What’s Not Included

Our standard transfer does not include

    • Files saved outside one user’s standard folders
    • Windows repair or data recovery
    • Encrypted drives (such as BitLocker)
    • Emails, browser bookmarks or favorites, and contacts
    • Organizing, filtering, or sorting data

Windows repair, data recovery, and encrypted drives are not included in our standard data transfer. Come in and ask — we’ll work with you to find a solution.

A Note About Email, Bookmarks & Contacts

Email, contacts, and browser bookmarks are usually stored with your email provider or browser account. Once you sign into those services on your replacement computer, your information should sync automatically. If there is a glitch, we can help with additional services for those rare cases.

    A Note About Cloud Storage

Cloud storage services such as Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, and Google Drive store and manage files independently of your computer. Files stored in the cloud and not on your computer will be available after you sign into your account on the new machine.

We do not transfer data from cloud services such as OneDrive, Dropbox, or Google Drive as part of our standard transfer.

f you use a Microsoft Account login, your personal files might not be on your computer at all — they may only be stored in OneDrive. We can help you determine what is actually stored on your computer and how to get all your files to your Windows 11 replacement computer.

    Need More Comprehensive Help?

We also offer custom migration services starting at $295. This can include moving programs, settings, and data stored in non-standard locations. We’ll review your setup with you and provide typical charges before any work begins.

Our goal is to make your move to Windows 11 smooth, predictable, and worry-free. Don’t wait until something stops working! Let’s get you ready now.

Stop by ComputerCorps and we’ll help you turn it up to 11 with confidence.

  • Setting Up a New Administrator Account with an Apple ID on a Mac

    Step-by-Step Beginner’s Guide

If you currently have only a local administrator account on your Mac and want to set up a new administrator account linked to an Apple ID (either new or existing), follow these steps:

    1. Open Users & Groups Settings

    • Click the Apple menu () in the top-left corner.
    • Select “System Settings” (or “System Preferences” on older macOS versions).
    • In the sidebar, click “Users & Groups.” You may need to scroll down to find it158.

    2. Unlock to Make Changes

    • Click the lock icon in the lower-left corner of the window.
    • Enter your local administrator password to unlock the settings8.

    3. Add a New User

    • Click the “Add User” (+) button below the list of users58.
    • In the dialog that appears, select “Administrator” from the “New Account” dropdown menu58.

    4. Enter New Account Details

    • Fill in the full name for the new user.
    • The account name will be generated automatically (you can change it now, but not later).
    • Enter a password and verify it. Optionally, add a password hint58.

    5. Link the Account to an Apple ID

    • After creating the user, you can link it to an Apple ID:
      • Log in to the new administrator account.
      • Go to “System Settings” > “Apple ID” (or “iCloud” on older versions).
      • Sign in with the desired Apple ID, or create a new one if needed.
      • Follow the prompts to complete the setup and enable iCloud services as desired56.

    6. Optional: Allow Password Reset with Apple ID

    • In “Users & Groups,” select the new user and enable “Allow user to reset password using Apple Account” if you want this feature. Note: This option may not be available if FileVault is on, or for certain account types5.

    7. Finish and Secure Your Mac

    • Log out and test the new account to ensure administrator privileges are working.
    • For best security, use the new Apple ID-linked account for day-to-day admin tasks and consider downgrading your original local admin account to a standard user if you prefer to minimize risk310.
