Since our inception in 1997, there have been more than 6,000 volunteers that have contributed more than 600,000 hours of volunteer service.
To accomplish our mission and goals, ComputerCorps is recruiting a volunteer army to fight the war of “techno-fear”, make a difference in the community and “even the playing field” and “bridge the digital divide” of those who don’t have access to computers and technology. Technical, Administrative, Facilities, Environmental and Virtual Volunteers are needed to help with this program.
Technical Volunteers are needed to repair, refurbish, upgrade, distribute computer systems.
Administrative Volunteers are needed for the office work, telephone calls, training, special projects and fundraising.
Facilities Volunteers such as carpenters, painters, gardeners, maintenance and warehouse people are needed to expand and maintain our facilities and build facilities in various local communities.
Environmental Volunteers are needed for monitor and battery recycling, training and community campaign development.
Virtual Volunteers are needed around the country for computer programming, web site development, help desk and special projects.
Our volunteers receive volunteer credits for their work. Each volunteer receives 2 credits per hour worked. These credits may be used to acquire a computer, software, printers, repair, and/or training. A complete computer system can be acquired with these credits. (For details see EHAC-Volunteering)
We provide a daily hot lunch and a weekly food basket for our volunteers. At holidays we serve a special meal to thank all our volunteers and supporters. Come and help make yesterdays into tomorrows.
